Hi All,
Have a problem with my 2002 +8.
On starting up everything appears fine, if I use the indicators I lose the the power to all the dials on the dashboard apart from the clock. The headlights work but no indicators or brake lights but the hazard warning lights work. Seems to reset itself so next time I start all appears well until using the indicators.
Am thinking possibly bad earth or dodgy fuse, not sure.

Another Morgan mystery!

Anyone else had the same problem?

Any thoughts would be gratefully received.

As a first step I would check the gauges to see if the cases are grounded, maybe connect a temporary wire from the case of a gauge to chassis to see if it cures the problem. Could be the dashboard ground connection has come adrift

All my +8 (albeit 1994 vintage) electrical problems have been ground issues or loose connectors. I agree with Mike check the earthing of the indicators then check connectors for looseness as you may have a short occurring.

Les,

I agree with others, lack of neutral (earth) in the indicator circuit so when you operate, it has to 'steal' some from another circuit, sometimes as simple as corrosion in the bulb sockets (a known fault on Mogs)

The tell tale is your clock still working as it has its own dedicated live & neutral wires
