I think he's mistaken! The louvres are just pressed out...no metal is removed is it? smile

I think that's why he's banging his head against a brick wall.

That was a bit slow of me weren't it frown

Oh mine was rhd and wire wheels. I don't think steel rims were available on it or I'd have had them.... I'll do anything for easy maintenance.

May be i mixed up the Runabout with the 2006 anniversary which came with steel rims.

BTW does someone know it the 2006 Anniversary had regular steel rims with 5 bolt hubs? Then it was the only 4/4 not equipped with center lock hubs/ wheels. Dave W.?

It was the Runabout which got me interested in Morgan. It was affordable and the were staff approachable.

It also appealed in the way that you could start and make your own Morgan spec once you'd saved up a bit more.

Some of the 70ths certainly had steel wheels with hubcaps. They would have been 5 bolt, same as the Plus 8 alloy hubs I suspect.

Steel wheels would have been around before that either as a no cost standard spec or optional but it would take a lot of digging around to get to the truth.

A bit of useless trivia, some of the 70ths had serious pinking issues and run on. One Taffmogger who never lasted very long in the fold got a 2ltr duratec fitted foc at the factory because the problem persisted after many attempts at rectification.

Not only the 70th had this problem. Some of the other 1.8 Duratec 4/4's of that era were inflicted too. It could be a real spoiler. If anybody is still suffering I have managed to fix mine.
