Very good. The bills from running these two are sufficient thanks!

Simon, the Grey one at HHC was my old car, absolutely nothing wrong with it at all, I just fell out of love with the car that was all. I think I had the alternator done and new tyres fitted and then put it up for sale. PM if you want any more details.

cheers.

I’m therefore shortly going to be in the market for a good S1 Aero. There are plenty at the dealers (morgan or otherwise) but I just wondered if any TM members were looking to sell their cars?
Rather than posting on the forum, drop me a PM if you’re thinking of selling.
I’m not in any mad rush as the driving season is over for me this year.
Thanks all
Simon

Just interested. Where are you selling the GT40. What was your primary reason for giving it up?

I’ve had loads of them in the past 20 years (7!) but not been in one for about 5 years. Although getting in and out is fine with the doors cut into the roof and once you’re inside it can be (relatively) spacious (far more elbow room than an Aero), I felt extremely claustrophobic when driving it and ended up hating it. I’ve since realised that previous cars have had light grey interiors, some with white roofs inside, so it’s quite possible it was just because of this.
If this sort of thing isn’t an issue, they are FANTASTIC cars to own and drive. I’d have another in a heartbeat if I could guarantee I wouldn’t feel the same.....

Slight thread drift (sorry!) but if I recall your Aero sounded quite loud, just wondering what system/silencers you had on it and whether it had a nice idle?

I find the Aero's idle so low they go almost silent, a little V8 rumble would be nice!

I believe a few other people on here felt the same. They used to sit blipping the throttle at junctions. Mentioning no Boshley’s.

Hi Nick

I also got fed up with mine sounding like a 7 series BMW!!

I can recommend the twin side pipes I have had fitted to mine - gives the car a purposeful woofle on idle, turning to something more thunderous under heavy load, whilst remaining civilised at low speed.

I am on the herts/essex border, so if you are seriously contemplating this we could meet up for you to take a look/listen

Kind regards

Ian
