Who's been?
What can I expect?
I'm off there next Sunday for 5 days.
My partner is from there (you wouldn't guess by talking to her), I hope I enjoy the trip. I will take a camera & my go pro.

It is the home of Mercedes....
A great visitor centre.
Like all german cities, good public transport, good food and drink and a lot of modern building, thanks to the demolition job in the 1940s.
Enjoy.......with a local guide you will be fine, and everyone under 30 speaks English.

We were there a few months ago. Would recommend the Porsche Museum, Mercedes factory tour and Mercedes Museum, also the Technik museums at Sinsheim and Speyer.
Definitely try to avoid driving in the centre during rush hour, everywhere was totally gridlocked and it took us nearly three times longer to get out of town than it did to get in earlier in the day.

Some speak better English than German in Stuttgart  Go and visit the Mercedes and Porsche Museum. Nice landscape around as well. If your partner is from Stuttgart she will know the nice places, roads and country restauants etc.

If you are driving remember that Stuttgart is a low emissions zone www.stuttgart.de/en/item/show/573353 and you have to show a sticker on your windscreen.

Here you go Lawrie your young lady will enjoy one or two of these I dare say. nightlife stuttgartWishing you a great time, the Germans really know how to enjoy themselves we lived in the north for 3 years and had a good time in Bremen and Hamburg.

Not been to that esteemed city, but I suspect German Taxis (Mercs), some beer and the odd sausage may put in an appearance.

Luckily we fly from Heathrow & her parents are picking us up. We will have the use of the family cars during our stay.
