Just asking!
I just received my Photo Build Book of my 2018 Roadster. i am REALLY disappointed. There is any way of knowing what car this is, chassis number, build dates, my name, options ordered. There are 15 or so pictures of A unpainted car. (Could be any bodies) Then there are 15 pictures of i guess my painted car, at least it is Blue. For $430.00 US. i thought i would get an actual build book, not a genic photo book. And on top of that it was received damaged in the poor shipping envelope from the factory to the United States.

Was i expecting too much?

Firstly I'm sorry for your disappointment Ed, unfortunately we have read similar tales on here of many generic photographs added to the "build record" to fill it out.

Considering the amount charged I would expect the whole record to be of my car as that is what it means really, if they can't fulfill that role accurately just stop selling them or charge lots less for them.

You must be very disappointing Ed.

It can't be that hard with such a small production

Don't know if this is offered to all dealers but mine received a couple of photo's via email. One of my car with build ref when it was ready to leave the tin shop and another after it left the spray shop, less than a week apart. I guess this gives them a prompt for payment wink

They were forwarded to me as an indication of build progress which I found very re-assuring despite slightly blurry images. I did have the luxury of visiting the factory twice during the build though so obtained my own set of photo's.

I didn’t order one with my car but amazingly one turned up at the dealers a few months after the car was delivered. It’s actually a really nice build record so I’m surprised that yours is so poor. I would have a word with whoever you bought the car from and ask politely for a refund based on the description you have given.

The photo build book for my 2017 4/4 actually cost £1000, this being the surcharge added due to a specification change made before the build commenced.
The sales department informed me the build book now had to be re-written. My request for a copy of said document was declined, as this always remains the property of MMC and I was given the photo build book instead!

There have been suggestions that generic images were included for the early stages.

But I was at the factory for my build over several days and the photos I took align with those in the build book.

Especially the photo I'm in, as I happened to be there when the photographer came round.

They played a trick on me by including an interior dashboard shot of a left hand drive blue car with cream interior.....

So I have two build books. My own is as good. But I'm glad we had the official one.

The factory are missing a trick by not selling a scanned copy of the official build book. I would have one.

Because staff are signing off the build records at each stage there is probably a legal issue in not allowing customers the factory build book.

As far as the photographic one is concerned, it very much depends on who goes round taking photos. I’ve seen some poor examples and some good ones. Considering the cost of the things they could be a lot better.

Some customer service Morgan Motors has! They will not refund my cost of the build book. Go figure I spent umteen dollars on this car! This would never fly here at home. There isn’t ONE single picture showing the chassis build number or my name. Not one.
This is very disappointing to me.
I don’t disbute this is my car, but only because of the color,
P
