Good afternoon all,
The blower control for the heater on Frog Mog stopped working today and the dial on the dash just rotates without the normal clicking.
Anyway I removed the panel below the dash to gain access to the rear of the switch only to find the switch had actually come apart, I suspected this was the case as I heard tinkling of various springs and bits falling onto the floor of the car!!!!
I’ve removed the actual knurled knob from the switch but a new switch is definitely required and it really looks the devil of a job to remove it as access is very restricted, have any other members had this issue or got experience replacing this switch??
Is it really a case of removing the dash or is there a trick/knack to doing it!!
Also any thoughts on where to get a new one??
Hopefully there are some experienced hands/minds out there that have found an easy way to do it.
Thanks in advance.
Terry

You need to drop the dash board, very easy job. You allready have the pannel removed from the bottom. So dropping the dash, is the next step.
Success!

Do you need to isolate the battery to avoid shorts.

Thanks for that, I’ve taped the switch up whilst I locate a new one but guess it makes sense to disconnect the battery whilst dropping the dash out to replace the defective part.
Certainly don’t want to cause any sparks or other issues whilst doing it.

Just pull the 80 amp fuse located in positive lead adjacent to battery Terry.

Thanks Richard,
Sounds easier than disconnecting the actual leads👍

Remove all the fuses or disconnect the battery. If the PCB blows you are looking at £600 or so if you can get one.

Ouch,
I saw there’s a PCB right there below the switch.
That’s what restricts access so much.
Thanks for the heads up.

Hi,
The fan blower switch on my R100 Roadster has just dropped to bits in similar fashion to the OP. Is the switch connected to the PCB by a connector and does anyone know the part number. I know the switches are made by Lorlin UK.
Any help appreciated.
