Wooster, as in wood, rather than as in Bertie.

One of my French customers did once express some surprise to me that Hewlett Packard made a sauce... I sometimes used to say I worked for the sauce company!

A full English is nothing without brown sauce, nor is a bacon sandwich.
As a yoof, I lagged everything with salt and ketchup.

Wooster as in Bertie. Don’t use it a lot though. Hewlet Packard and Apple sauces are more popular here

hates Wuster Sauce. I get through a fair bit - use it to liven up stews etc. She has never complained. My Dad buys it a gallon at a time and uses it for pickling onions instead of vinegar. A wonderful outcome results.

A wonderful outcome results. I must admit I do put rather a lot in tomato juice I also used to use a lot for cheese on toast but now I add just English mustard to the cheese

SWMBO is from Worcester. It is Wooster Sauce..a long "o" sound. Sadly the sauce is now part of Heinz, though it is still made in Worcester. The label... I've just looked...says Worcestershire Sauce. What is in it? According to Wiki... Barley malt vinegar Spirit vinegar Molasses Sugar Salt Anchovies Tamarind extract Onions Garlic Spice Flavourings The "spice" and "flavourings" are believed to include cloves, soy sauce, lemons, pickles and peppers. It is fermented, reputedly then matured or 2 years. It ages well, we normally keep a number of bottles and use when well past the "best before" date! Found this on YouTube. Other than the US voice mis pronouncing Worcestershire ikt is quite good. https://youtu.be/vAdAgHJ0aqI

Look up https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Garumand then https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fish_sauceNothing new under the sun. Also Wikipedia Chester (placename element)
The English place-name Chester, and the suffixes -chester, -caster and -cester, are commonly indications that the place is the site of a Roman castrum, meaning a military camp or fort, but it can also apply to the site of a pre-historic fort. Names ending in "-cester" are nearly always reduced to "-ster" when spoken, the exception being "Cirencester", which is pronounced in full. The pronunciation of names ending in -chester or -caster is regular.
