Anyone got an Accugard 1800 battery tender?

I’ve lost the instructions to mine and wonder why the charging light is blinking. It’s normally constant.

For some reason there are no instructions on the web that I can find.

Thanks

Do you use the 12v socket to charge the battery. It could be as a result of an intermittent connection.
I used to get that on my charger before I hard wired it in.

On my Optimates, the yellow light is usually constant when charging, but flashes when it is going through a 'battery test' cycle. It then returns to a solid light.

It's described as a three stage charger. That would be bulk, absorb and float. Bulk is where the charger provides maximum current to battery until it's pre-set full charge voltage is reached (usually around 14.3 to 14.8 volts). Absorb is where that same voltage is held for an automatically calculated time during which charge current demand tails off, and at the end of which it's nominally fully charged. Float is a lower maintenance voltage (around 13.2 to 13.6 volts) in which state the charger can be left on indefinatly.

Depending if it happens at the beginning of a charge sequence or some time after, the flashing green light probably indicates bulk or absorb mode.

I have one. I replaced the battery in my roadster yesterday and left the Accugard connected as I swapped. Went from green solid, to green flashing while there was no battery connected, to amber solid whilst bringing the new battery up to charge then to green solid.

Mine is connected directly to the battery... perhaps the clips on the battery aren’t connecting properly?
