Thanks to Kevin, in the parts department at Williams, I now have the required screw, but I'm going to replace the lot with cap head screws!

I've also got the sheets of chromed self adhesive plastic and will make up some reflector rings.

More, as it happens!

I have removed all the light covers, indicator and stop/brake.

All the covers are the same size, there are no reflectors.

I measured the set screws.
They seem to be 25.5mm, x 3.25mm, or switching to an imperial scale, 1" x 1/8". So are they BA threads or AF? I don't have an M3 set screw to try.

Anyone know for certain?

UPDATE!

The screws are NOT M3!
I got hold of an M3 nut and bolt and the screws that hold the "glass" to the light will not go into the M3 nut.

A bit of web searching and I have discovered the thread is 6-32 UNC 32 t.p.i. and 32mm (1 1/4 in) long.

What chance of finding that as an A2 Stainless cap head Allen drive screw?
Easy!
I've just ordered the minimum quantity, ......100. £18.00
I need 18....

So, anyone want some? I'll send packs of 20 for £5.00 including postage to the first 4 people who contact me!

sorry for the delay in replying; took me a while to dig out the details pantsdown

The bolts I used were -

M3 X 35 A2 Stainless Steel Allen/Socket head bolts

I initially tried 30mm but these were too short for my lenses.

I got mine from 'Bolt Base' in Alloa - but it was a few years back.

I have used 'Kayfast' on eBay who are usually very good at posting out quickly; see link -

M3 x 35

I know there is some debate over the thread pattern - all I can say is that mine fitted perfectly, but they were new lenses/bases.

It's only a couple of £££'s to try so worth a punt to stave off the rust.... thumbs

- just cross-posted my (belated) reply as Peters update appeared !

It must be to do with the age of the fittings perhaps?

Mine came form Heart of England in 2015 and the M3 bolts fit OK..... confused2
