I like the looks of the Land Rover Defender 90, so my taste is very much debatable, he he.
I too love the Defender 90, but as a Landrover and a period one at that
Cheers

As the happy owner of an S-type, I feel rather hurt that that I'm driving "an awful pastiche"! Think yourself as getting off lightly. I have an S Type 'Pasty' and a 'Hairdryer' but at least they are both 'Green'

I like this. I am not sure that an Italian design studio should be designing a Jag but they've done a great job here. Raise the chassis and give it 4WD ala BMW X6 No Jag, please don't do this. These jacked up coupes are all dogs dinners in the looks department. Why does anyone think that these are a good idea: they are too tall and ugly to be sports cars and too low slung to go off road. I know that 4x4 is good on road as well but Subaru, Audi Quattro and Sierra Sapphire Cosworth have all shown that you can build a relatively handsome 4x4 saloon. Calm down Neil. Breath. Sorry for the rant. But I really hate these jacked up 4x4 coupes - I like real 4x4s and even soft-roaders and certainly 4x4 saloons but not these. Back to the Jag though - nice. Very nice. I think it has got the muscle to go down well in the USA - I just hope they give it euro-handling not usa-rock-and-roll.

Well here is my 50 cents worth. a "Land-rover " badge at the front, lexus at the rear (if you cant beat hem, just confuse) 4 wheel drive with a diff lock, fully concealed and retractable tow ball hitch,(family tip moments), The most unique option ever: choice of camouflage paint, desert storm, Simpson desert drab,Mowson Arctic with sequin highlights.... the list will be endless, jags are my favourite car, sadly just sold my Mk2 Daimler, but life moves on and on ....
If you are doing nothing, how do you know when you are finished?

The US has always been a key market for Jaguar and has influenced the styling, and the steering, over the years. Personally, I can't see any Lexus influence but hey... OH I LOVE IT The opposite (is it the name) doors with a single looking door handle are very nice and I love the thin drive lights

Sorry for the rant. 6/10 for the rant If I wanted a saloon I'd buy one. But I don't Beauty is very much in the eye of the beholder; I personally love the high driving position of a proper 4x4 and I also Love the strakish rear and coupe looks of the X6. They are also not too low to go off road, and that's another misconception. Granted it isn't quite a Land/Range Rover (that discussion's been done on here, though inconclusively) but I am assured they are quite capable off road also. So nearly my perfect car, if only the roof would retract Good job we're all different and have different tastes. Oh, but I agree on the Jag! Nice!! I'll have mine as a jacked up 4x4.......
Cheers

Love the strakish rear and coupe looks of the X6 Have Googled 'strakish' and it seems that it's something to do with grey polyester! I'll go now...

It gets my vote. I like the current XJ but this is better. I am not aiming to cause a fight but I find the X6 like a punked up Nike trainer and have trouble understanding how someone can find it "attractive". Powerful, Assertive and others things I can see but I don't buy a car to show my enraged man parts to everyone. It is interesting that we all have the common love of the Morgan shape (which is a polarising shape to most) and yet we have such diversity on second vehicles. You do have to love the diversity of this world.
Everyone loves a Morgan. Even me, unless it's broken again.

I'm mixed on the Bertone Jag.
My initial reaction is to dismiss it totally based on the fact it is a design program creation and therefore, only viewable in a virtual world. To debate how good it looks seems somewhat pointless until they produce a physical concept.
Bertone are a bit hit and miss; hence, my reservation to pass judgement until we can view a 'real' production car.
Personally, I'd like to see Jaguar keep some of their design hallmarks (the grill being one) and stop trying to dream up new (and in my opinion) pointless ones (like the Jaguar claw-mark lights in the latest sedan).
