Sad news, indeed. Hope to get a Roadster before they move to the new chassis...

Will be interesting to read the financial details and production plans as they leak. Marketing spin will be glorious, of course. If the M3W is deemed strategic, the risk is mass production. If I'm honest, I hope they retire it. Either way, I have to imagine that 'pre-acquisition' will mean something.
Glad my MMC-built' 3W is safely in the garage.

I was wondering if anyone with a Trad Roadster on order would be thinking " maybe I should have waited?" Obviously not!

This is spurring me to order asap before the M3W goes the way of the dodo.
The flip side of the coin is that maybe they would stick a Motoguzzi engine in it!?
The light at the end of the tunnel is actually a train. 2019 M3W

Well, they got a longer run at sole ownership than Ferrari did. A whole eighty years longer.
Honestly, hopefully they don't fuck it up. Morgan is a niche brand for a niche buyer, and a Morgan never dies... so you can't meddle that too much. Hopefully they don't start talking about changing a bunch of stuff once the deal closes... hope it stays the same.

I’m sure it’ll be fine and Morgan will continue as is, Lotus has managed fairly well with a similar arrangement. The worst case would be drastic change, Mini springs to mind, probably a great financial success for BMW but a product so far removed from the original, an old-new one is worthless while an old original one, even a pallet of junk, is desirable. Oddly enough, Pretty woman also springs to mind, maybe the new guys with break the company up and spend it all on Julia Roberts lookalikes.

The Guzzi engine and a good quiet drivetrain, you three wheelers could be the only ones apart from the family to benefit!

Personally, I hope service levels and reliability do change. Yes, it’s a shame it’s no longer family owned but, as long as the new owners invest in the business, it will hopefully be a good thing (and was probably inevitable). Fingers (and toes) crossed! 🤞🤞

Lotus has managed fairly well with a similar arrangement. Except that Lotus has since it's sale always been owned by other large automotive companies (apart from the 3 years from 93 to 96 that the company belonged to Romano Artioli, the then owner of Bugatti). GM & Toyota, Proton, now Geely. Lotus has lost substantial amounts of money for all of them, but presumably they have been able to justify this from what they have gained in technological know-how and the kudos of having a sexy brand as the flagship of their portfolio. Vulture capitalists will not be so indulgent; a company that fails to make them money will be disposed of.
