Hi,
I have just bought a 2008 Roadster and would like to replace the bulbs in
the over wing side lights with LED bulbs. Has anyone done this and what
Bulbs should I buy? Also, does this cause any issues with the engine
management computer? Any help would be appreciated.
Regards
Andrew

I have replaced all the bulbs, except headlights. Only the indicator bulbs needed ballast resistors.

I have a pair of ARV6 style headlamps surplus to requirements. Smiley 12 LED driving/side lights fitted with HI H4 headlamp bulbs.

No fitting issues. PM if interested.

Many Thanks to everyone for replying. Sounds like I can do this without any problems. It was just that it had been mentioned that as the voltage/ amp would be different between the leds and standard bulbs it might upset the engine management computer. Sounds like this isn’t a problem.

Doubt it would upset engine management. If the car had a body control unit that might throw up an error though.

A 2008 Roadster does not yet have a Can-Bus. Therefore it should be no problem to change the lamps. And the power consumption of the LED is lower, which is also good. Because I think the 2008 Roadster has not only no Can-Bus but also no relay behind the light switch. At least my 2014 4/4 has no relay.
