I'm not sure I follow the logic in that.

Surely it's better to focus on enjoying what you have got and be comforted that MMC are maybe more likely to be around to support owners for years to come.

I think it is a mistake to compare the price of the Plus 6 to any of the trad chassis models. It is the replacement for the Aero Plus 8, and to be honest I am really surprised that an Aero 6 has not been released today.

Using the same platform I am pretty sure that the future will bring a 3 cylinder and 4 cylinder variant (3/4 and Plus 4???).

Because of the high torque developed by turbocharged engines at low revs I think the 3 cylinder model will move into the ecological niche of the trad Plus 4 and the 4 cylinder model into the niche of the V6 Roadster.

The future entry point will probably be the 3 cylinder model and I would expect prices around the price of the current Plus 4 (£50K+?) and the CX (or Metric) Plus 4 at around the price point of the current Roadster (£60K+?).

By the time you add the options one would want plus the "Rest of world" surcharge, tax etc., it will probably take the cost of the entry point car to over €75K in Euro. Far too much for me to even dream about.

A reasonably optioned Plus 6 will be over EUR€100K. I'm sure there will be a long queue to get one rofl

I must say I do like Peter J's idea of separating the new from the trad thereby leaving the skilled workforce available to rebuild the trad cars and sell them via the small specialist Morgan dealers like BHM ( other dealers are available )
They could then perhaps take a leaf out of Caterham's book and build a brand new but very basic small capacity trad to sell well under the cost of todays 4/4 or Plus 4.
The Caterham car sold out almost instantly.

As a Morgan owner for the past 40+ years and one who has bought three new cars during that period that certainly was the case with the last two I purchased.

Received this in my inbox yesterday.

Maybe they will invest in the company's communication skills. Timing is everything doh

Introducing the
Morgan Plus 4 110 Works Edition

Morgan Motor Company is delighted to continue celebrations for its 110th Anniversary with the introduction of the Plus 4 110 Works Edition. Launched today (March 5th) at the Geneva International Motor Show, this latest special edition is born out of the recently introduced 110th Anniversary range of Morgan models. Representing the ultimate four-cylinder Morgan, the Plus 4 110 Works Edition benefits from a range of visual and performance upgrades.
The design and introduction of the Plus 4 110 Works Edition has witnessed a number of departments across the Morgan business entering their own vision of the perfect Morgan Plus 4 specification. These were optimised by Morgan Design alongside Morgan’s in-house racing division AR Motorsport to create, in Morgan’s opinion, the ultimate Morgan Plus 4. Continuing to operate proudly under the ownership of the founding family, the Morgan Motor Company is the world’s longest established, privately-owned automotive manufacturer.
The Morgan Plus 4 110 Works Edition is available to order today from Morgan Dealerships a, discover more at the link below.

Technically they are still privately owned.
The PE group who have 51% are also privately owned.
But it is a bit of a stretch to say they are operated under the ownership of the founding family.....

Keep the faith, it will change shape dramatically but that's the only way the business can survive it needs change whether this is the right one remains to be seen.
