Excellent, although my preference is Millicano.

Best of all, the jars can be recycled in the garage for storing all the bits and pieces which will come in handy one day!

Tim, if you want to save even more energy then I can recommend one of these

I didn’t buy it to save electricity, I bought it because it’s got high qualty burr grinders, it’s infinitely variable on the grind size by adjusting the top nut and you can control the speed to get a perfect size grind whatever the roast of bean and coffee maker type you are using

They aren’t cheap but then good stuff generally isn’t

I use mine for midday coffees at weekends as Rach prefers a French Press or filter drip

This is my daily grind..I have owned it since 1972 and year of manufacture is on the back as 1948 !!!

Still works great...got a spare glass container last year on Amsterdam fleamarkt for 5 euros in case I break original.

Good crema, quick to heat, easy to clean. Pleased so far.

Reading the Times today, I see we are all complete amateurs. Apparently the multi-Michelin-starred chef Alain Ducasse has opened a coffee shop (called Le Café), with coffee for £15 a cup.

The article goes on to say "Ducasse’s venue occupies a railway arch in the cool new Coal Drops Yard development in King’s Cross, London, and takes artisan coffee-making to unparalleled heights. It’s the first time I’ve seen a cup of filter cost double figures; and a bag of udaini beans from Yemen are yours to take away for £590 a kilo."

Goodness gracious me. And there was I thinking that paying £20 a kilo for Illy beans was a bit indulgent!

Looks great. Matches the coffee grinder nicely. What brand is the grinder?
