It’s about time TM members had discounts.
Look at the development and mods TM has introduced. Free to MMC.

Oh no! oldgit

I can remember my visits to the factory, long before the Visitors Centre.
You turned up, called in at Reception, were given a single sheet of paper, shown where to start and then just told to ‘follow the line on the floor’ - unaccompanied and no charge!

. When I first visited the factory. Many moons ago, you signed a piece of paper and told to go and have a wander around. They asked you call on the way out to get crossed of the paper. They told us they had to be careful no non employee got locked in over night......those were the days.

.+8 Now gone for a 1800 4/4. Duratec in bright yellow.

Also (and I don’t know if it’s still there) as a visitor, you could sit and have lunch in the small works canteen.
It was on the right, as you went down the main drive from the entrance. I seem to remember a choice of either curry or sausage and chips.

I too remember those "old days" but they were a good few years ago. On my first visit there was one man who drove every newly made car and came back and adjusted the carbs etc. He offered to take me out. I queried the legality on trade plates and he just laughed and off we went. It was a great sales technique. After the ride I knew I had to have one, although it took a few more years to get my first.
It was a much more homely feeling then. Not that that is necessarily a good thing.
It is certainly a more informative tour nowadays than when I used to wander around. And presumably the staff aren't now constantly slowed up answering questions. Must be better now really.

Interesting piece in Autocar directly quoting Dominic Riley about the future plans:

https://www.autocar.co.uk/car-news/motor...l-boost-company

"We can invest in people. We’ve got plans for a new visitor centre, too. The factory is less than half of the 10 acres we have so there is room to grow. There’s a big opportunity with the museum and other areas"

"They will invest in the company and grow it, and double production. That’s the business plan"

Doesn't sound like a slash and burn philosophy but rather capitalising on 110 years heritage and using it as a springboard to a bright future.

The new models look fantastic and in a bland world stand out as something to admire and aspire to.

Good luck to MCC and to the next glorious 11O years!

That's long gone Simon. I can vouch for the sausage rolls in the Visitors Centre cafe though grin2

Looks like that if investindustrial will lower the factory visit price ticket and work on the canteen menu, lot of Plus Six orders will come! wink

Looking, watching and eating. Going for an Italian fund, sounds like the best option.

How about a shiny new café with live video feeds from each dept to wall mounted screens ?

I'm excited to see future developments

as a perspective first time buyer, i think this is good news. i see consolidation in my sector every day for multiple reasons which include mounting legislation which must be a total nightmare to handle for morgan at present.

already morgan are a niche, with customers willing to pay big bucks and face significant mechanical and structural risks (which is what is delaying me).

hopefully a better streamlined product, distribution and support can open up the brand to more clients and in turn make the cars better.

this requires a steady hand on the helm during the transition and a focus not only on the return but also and as much on the respect and continuation of the heritage.

i see way more ducatis today than 20 years ago, and i think everyone's better off for it
