Hi, I am planning a trip to the South Of France in May and usually take the train to cross the channel as its quick and easy, I usually go on my Motorcycle.
This year we are thinking of going in the Morgan for a change and I was wondering if anyone has had experience of boarding and ground clearance using the ramp on the side of train?
I've never given it much thought in all the times I've been as I just ride on and get on with it, but the Morgan being so low has got me thinking now.
Anyone got any experience or advice on using the train?

Never had any problem in my Plus 8. Went numerous times and whilst always careful about any ramps I cannot remember ever bottoming out.

I was wondering about this as well having read some alarming comments on this forum about ferry ramps. We normally use the train and I thought it might be better due to the integral ramps but I also suspect the lower deck may be better as the upper deck must have a more acute angle to it's ramp. Would that be correct?

Thanks, I'm not an expert on the different Morgans, I have a 2009 4/4, is that lower or are they all pretty much the same?
You don't drive on the train straight do you, you kind of cross the peak at an angle so maybe that helps too?

My 2011 Plus 4 is lower than a 4/4, I have had no problems with ground clearance on the Shuttle. Yes, you do cross the entrance at an angle.
The loaders directed us onto the lower level.
Have a great trip.

If you are going to use toll road, the Sanef toll tag is a godsend.
Just drive up to the barrier and you are through.

We had no problems on the shuttle with our Roadster but I understand they generally try to put cars with low ground clearance on the lower deck. This has been my experience both with the TVR Tuscan and the Morgan. We drove down to Carcassonne last year in the Morgan but kept off the toll roads.

Me too, and the Toll tag is brilliant (but buy it from France if you can as it’s much cheaper than buying from one of the UK sites that offer them, and they will post it to the UK).
