Just had a quick look in my garage and it looks like the same car that was there yesterday.

IMO, I think its not only a pretty sad day for the owners of MMC, but also the folks that own and love their cars.

I have worked for 2 different companies that were all taken over by a similar type of investment vehicle. Neither of them ended well for the original employees, but in fairness one of the companies survived and prospered , the other ended less well.

It's a bit like Bob Dylan using an electric guitar at the Newport Folk Festival in 1965. His fans didn't like it but he couldn't progress musically by staying acoustic. I feel this is a significant moment - not necessarily a sad one. Morgan would probably not survive long term without it. Hm.

They (investindustrial) will modernise, streamline, maybe even build a new plant ? all of which will no doubt increase profits ( after all thats all they care about ) and all the time they are doing that they will be sucking the soul out of the brand.

Possibly The family thought this was the right time to get out with record high profits and with Brexit looming. No doubt this was a good deal for the family and for Investindustrial. For the life of me, I cannot see how this can be good for the employees or the fans however. Making it employee owned, like Aardmann just did, would have been a much better path forward. HFS would be rolling in his grave.

So instead of paid for the chassis, they give them the majority of the share frown
