I suspect one of the rails is slightly out, or twisted, causing the seat to jam. Doesn't take much.

It's caused by that errant protruding bolt tail and nut on each runner, which is pressed into the floor.

Fit some shallow spacers and it should work fine.

Basically the seats used to be mounted on wooden risers which had a recess in them to take the bolt Dave mentions. When the factory lowered the seats to accommodate the revised dashboard height they did it by the simple method of deleting the risers and bolting straight to the floor. Which stresses the rails over the bolt (there is no hole in the floor to take it) which means the seats won't glide properly. A few spacers should cure it....or cut a hole in the floor and seal it from below when the seat has been fitted.

I see it is fed through a rectangular ring of metal so can’t slide it more down the side of the seat before getting to her shoulder.
Is there a simple solution or is the scarf the only practical and safe way to resolve?
Thank you

They look v effective Paul-thanks for the photo. The sheepskin strap cover arrived today so we’ll see how effective that is to start with but may be in touch again in the future
Cheers

HI
Above are images of my seat belt brackets lifting the belt away from the shoulder and neck but also creating a favorable angle over the rear shelf to stop snagging. Dead easy to fit, just undo the retaining bolt holding the factory bracket in place, if you wish to leave this for possible future use just let it slip back toward recoil, if not wanted cut it off. Then bolt my bracket on using factory bolt and plastic cap.
I have to come up with something similar for my Plus 8 now.
