Hello Everyone... I am new to your exclusive web site, from the USA of all places...and fortunate enough to have taken ownership of a New 2018 Rolling Chassis, Roadster.
As I make my way around town, familiarizing myself with my Morgan, I get the usual stares, glares, smiles of contentment, thumbs Up!, etc. of driving a Morgan.
When I park, I am pleased to get a reception of on-lookers, but find myself starting to get annoyed, when asked..... "Is it Original or a Kit", I respond, "Its the real thing!" It seems the folks don't believe the response...
The other question I get asked..."How old is it?" ..... How should I respond, New 2018?, 1965?....
Does anyone have suggestions.....

Certainly tell them it’s real, as for how old it is if you say it’s 2018 you’ll get your share of funny looks, sometimes it’s fun to be economical with the truth, and yes the wooden chassis will be along soon.

As we have the same questions in Britain, where they have been made for a very long time, I imagine you'll have even more in the USA where they must be incredibly rare. I tend to say - brand new, hand made in England. That covers most things.

Just tell them it's an oh eighteen...they can read whatever they like into that answer.
Used the oh twelve line when my ThreeWheeler was about six weeks old and was told how wonderful it was to see these old things being used and cared for so well!

Have great fun with the car and the general public, they love them with no resentment ever shown as with exoticars.

According to one "expert" my 2013 M3W is a Morgan kit car built by Caterham.

I tell them Morgan designed their car in 1935 and have been building it, and variants if it ever since. Mine was built in 1959.
I live in the US too. Last summer I stopped at a gas station in Vermont and a guy went crazy for the car. "They don't build 'em like that any more" he said--and was gobsmacked when I said "well, actually they do ..."
