the mirror secret......
the arms are spring loaded and will adjust to different positions - from memory I think there are three options. Personally, I find that round mirrors give a better view, particularly on the nearside, so you might like to put some on the shopping list.
Anyway, just one of the joys of Morgan ownership, you will have plenty more discoveries to make.
PS. Can't believe they didn't fill the tank for you!

Aren't the mirrors convex? I'd assume that would be the better choice rather than flat mirrors.

I was all set to have to get out and push! Luckily there is a petrol station just down the road!!
That nearside mirror was a real pain........ the more you turned it inwards the more it turned up to give a great view of the sky! I saw that the arm was spring loaded but didn't see how you could move it inwards.

I saw that the arm was spring loaded but didn't see how you could move it inwards. You might be very well advised to bin the OEM mirrors and take a look at some of the good ones on the market ( you'll need to make a decision as to round or otherwise, flat or convex etc) Librands do a good set and Heart of England have an original 'Lucas' pattern which looks good and does the job well. It's easier if you go for after- market mirrors which will work with the original stalks or at least the sockets into which they fit ( I have a morbid horror of drilling holes in my 4/4!) Stainless steel are a good bet but don't forget to sort out any nuts, knurl screws etc otherwise you might find the shiny new mirrors are accompanied by rusting fastenings Hope it all goes well regards, G

Thank you very much for your suggestions and hints I think I will look into replacement mirrors that fit into the original stalks. I also have morbid horror of drilling holes in the plus 4
Thanks to everyone

Geo As a start, have a look at these two links: http://www.heartofenglandmorgans.co.uk/ Then go to 'online shop' and then 'mirrors' http://www.librands.co.uk/products-category-Mirrors%20-%20Stainless.htmlI fitted a pair of John Worrall's 'Lucas pattern' to my 2000 4/4 and used the original stalks into the original body mountings. I've also heard good things about Rob Wells' Librands mirrors but have no personal experience of them HTH G

People give Morgan owners a lot of latitude. You will find that you are the polar opposite of the "wazzock" and people will enjoy letting you out at junctions and giving you right of way. Just remember to wave say thank you and return the generous nature they show to the brand. We just drive them.
Everyone loves a Morgan. Even me, unless it's broken again.
