I'm in the progress of fitting a cigarette lighter in the glove box so that I can use my phone to use Google maps. In my works van I have a suction type thing that sticks to the window screen, but the MOG has aero screens. Has anyone any ideas of fitting the phone to the MOG.

Hi Dave I did a thread on this earlier last year but I can’t seem to find it However see photos below of my phone holder that I fitted to the Morgan It’s not everybody’s best position but it works very well for me. I wanted it in a discreet position so I can view glance down and a holder that is fixed without it ruining my dash or being in sight It is attached to a bolt on the underside of the leg tunnel and the phone then nestles very neatly to the left of my thigh just under the dash and still gives room to reach the brake lever

Forgot to say that I then got (after the above photos) a long IPhone charger cable which is plugged into the socket in the glove box, goes out the back of the glove box and I’ve routed it behind the dash and cable tied it to the phone holder stem so I can plug my mobile in on the holder

Here are a couple of photos that show it today The phone holder with the charging wire ready to plug in the phone and the inside of my glove box with the charging wire plugged into the socket and running out the back (Because there is an LED light on the charger, I have to remember to remove it from the socket at night after a run so it doesn’t drain the battery)

What iPhone model do you have? I ask because many of the mounts are now starting to offer the Qi wireless charging that saves the cable being plugged in if you are using bluetooth to the head unit?
Stewart’s is the best if you can screw it in. There are also longer versions that can mount to the seat mechanism but that can be way out of sight for tapping send/end.
If not then a phone cover with a magnetic label and one of the ball mounts to a flat vertical surface is good. I used this from the coupes windscreen for our EU trip and it never got away. If you don’t have wireless charging the cover is fine. I moved the socket from the glove box to a unit fitted to the roll bar be the passenger door. Easier to reach & use.

Just done something similar into a panel where the radio would be (as I don't bother in Mogs) plus a basic cig socket too, so I have all possible options I did however make sure the USB goes off when ign not on, as I assume they drag a bit of power for the LED & volt stepdown circuit
