Yoh Mac39, HB reporting for duty 🄳.
It won’t help but, the final few days do eventually pass by.
However unfortunately I have found it even worse since Florence arrived 😳🄰.
I cannot get enough of her and it is a shame that work takes up so much time. As much as I am now considered an experienced owner (well I have had her for 9 days now after all), each time I drive her it just gets better and better and more and more fun. Averaging about 350 miles per weekend at the mo and my Fitbit tells me each time the exercise is the equivalent of riding a bike for the whole time. Bearing in mind I normally drive an auto tin top and only took one out for two days in total in 2010 and 2012, she has exceeded my every hope for fun factor. People smile and wave and come over at petrol stations and generally she seems to create such a feelgood emotion for all which merely adds to the enjoyment. The problem I’ve found is trying to come down from the high at the end of each journey.
I am so unbelievably excited for you on the journey you are going on now-as everyone said to me, it really does only get better.
I shall be counting the days down with you and your good lady šŸ‘šŸ˜šŸ¤“šŸš—šŸ•ŗ

Welcome to the forum Mac and wishing you a bit of sleep before Friday

Just think of something really dull at night ...like driving a tin top with a large spacious practical boot

That should help get some vital ZZZZ’s in time for Friday’s exciting day

I’ve had the excitement of collecting 4 Morgans in the last 10 years. 2 from the factory on hire for 10 days, 1 bought privately on EBay and 1 bought from Williams and each time I would class those days as some of the most exciting days of my life

Other than getting married or being present at the birth of the boys of course! nono

(Had to get that in just in case this gets back to Rach (who was also a bank teller when we married)

Mac if you stay as enthusiastic after you have taken posession of your Morgan and owned for say a year, then you are a true marganeer!
If your future posts are as enthusiastic as you current ones, then
L look forward to them. And remember, if something starts to rattle, plenty of expertise on this forum to solve it.
Have fun Friday!
Bert

Hi again all…and thanks so much for helping build our anticipation!!

We will of course take some pictures which I’ll post sometime next week. We’re hoping to have some really good pictures to remind us of our first day as Morgan owners, because we’ve planned what we hope to be a really nice weekend trip when we pick the car up on Friday.

Our trip will start early with us leaving home in Ayrshire…getting a taxi to the train station…train to Glasgow…change station to catch train to Perth…then taxi to Revolutions dealership for about 09:00.

After Russell & Elliot have helped calm us down and run over everything with us, we plan to head off rather gingerly (& hopefully hood down!) to follow our pre-planned weekend itinerary. woohoo

We reckon we’ll leave Revolutions at about 11:00…heading south west, cross country towards the southern tip of Loch Lomond. From there…we’ll head north, stopping somewhere on ā€œthe bonnie banksā€ for a light lunch. Next, we head west picking up the fantastic A83…up an over the scenic ā€œRest & Be Thankfulā€ …before heading along the shores of Loch Fyne…all the way down to Tarbert where we’ll spend the night a Stonefield Castle.

In the morning, we might take a short drive further down the A83 before turning around and retracing our steps…stopping off for lunch at the fab Loch Fyne Oyster Bar (seafood to die for!)…before re-joining the A82 again running along the bonnie banks of Loch Lomond, but this time heading further south…homewards to sunny (we hope!) Ayrshire late Saturday afternoon.

Forecast is a bit iffy…but hopefully will hold up just enough to keep the hood down. We’ve stocked up with towels just in case!

Thanks once again to all for sharing! cheers

As an afterthought…and reflecting on the power of suggestion, how many of you are now singing in your headā€¦ā€By yon bonnie banks and by yon bonnie braesā€ ?

All together now… laugh2

Congratulations on one if life's really good decisions! thumbs I haven't recovered from the sleepless nights waiting for Headless Blue's car to arrive so I don't think I should be reading this thread. How many more hours?

Sounds like a nice trip.
There is something about heading north along Loch Lomond for me - I always get the feeling I am heading home. Not aware of any Scots blood in the family tree though.
Have run up Rest and Be Thankful in various motors over the years. Must stop at the Oyster Bar some time.
Enjoy your new car and the many (s)miles smile

Congratulations Mac. Looking forward to hearing all about your first trip in that beautiful part of the world. Still to do it in our Morgan but I am sure that your report will spur me into planning action.

Congrats on the new car, the planned journey will be awesome, i hope the weather holds for you, Russel & team are a real good set of people the entised me into Morgan by giving me a test Drive back in 2008 with their then Demo model S4 Aero Auto, i was smitten and 4 years later managed to purchase my Aeromax which i had 2 years of utter delight in driving and experiencing Morgan life.

3 days to go....šŸ˜‡šŸ¤®
That trip sounds bloomin brilliant. Have done bits in tin tops but it is one of my ambitions to do it (and Skye) in Florence. Really can’t wait to hear about it and hopefully see some piccies. Top notch!
Hope you are both retaining a smidge of sanity???? We were down to about 4 hours sleep a night in the final week.
Best wishes
HB

Yes...counting the hours down now just like you did HB.

Been preparing a check list for collection day and our onward trip. Everything is on there from being coached on how to put hood up & down to changing wheels...through to selection of headwear (his & hers) and packing new storm cover...etc...etc

Never had a checklist quite like this before! laugh2

Just hope we have enough room!

Cheers

Mac
