I was wondering whether his car has a front valance fitted in which case he's clearly decided to introduce a 'spoiler' into the discussions

It seems, after all, that he is a rather nice chap, obviously quite intelligent, is a sensative soul, and has never (well hardly ever) eaten a baby for breakfast

Just done a little bit of a search to try to identify IDS’s Mog
It’s definitely an R reg as I’ve found a few photos on the web displaying it’s reg which makes it registered in 1997
I’ve also found a couple of references to it being a Plus 8
In mid 1997 MMC swapped from a single left exhaust tailpipe as the Chequers photo to twin pipes when they updated to the 4.6 litre engine
So my guess is that Ian’s is one of the last 3.9 litre Plus 8’s made before mid 1997
He’s had it a good long time as I’ve found a photo of him on Shutterstock with it dating back to 2002
So he may even have had it from new

Sorry don't think it's a +8. There isn't a Morgan badge on the rear of a +8. Also my 1979 had twin rear pipes.
