New to Talk Morgan
|
New arrival in San Francisco. BRG and Alu.
700+ miles in the first three days, LA to SF and then my 100 mile round trip daily commute. My new daily driver is here!

Nice car. Glad you enjoy it. The farting could be a leaking exhaust manifold gasket. Mine went where the 3 pipes merge before the exhust.

Cracking looking car..... You have the roads and the weather to enjoy it.... Lived near Santa Cruz for a couple of years in the late '70s..... Envy you the weather (sitting in my kitchen in the North East of Scotland listening to the cold 50mph wind rattle past the house with bits of snow in it!).... Happy Trails

Thanks for posting pics of your very Vintage looking Morgan and sharing your ownership experience.
It is always interesting to find out the variety of different ways that Morganeers make use of their cars. I think you polished bonnets add an even more vintage look to your car..and given it was growing vintage interests that drew me into Morgan ownership, that styling touch is one I greatly approve of.. (-:
I note that JCK mentioned the possibility of glare from the bonnets in his post, I hope that causes no issue. I have a Moto Lita steering wheel with polished spokes which causes reflections on the windscreen in some circumstances, but I put up with that as I prefer the look of that wheel over the standard matt black one that was originally fitted..!

Developed a "clunk" from somewhere near the gearbox when lifting off at low speed. Gearbox oil changed to look for bits of metal, none found. Still clunks.
Oh the fun of owning a Morgan as the 100 miles a day daily driver.
IIRC, there is a grease nipple on the sliding splines between the gearbox output shaft & the front end of the propshaft, worth a lube-up, if you've checked nothing else is chafing

I'm glad to be no longer involved in the daily commuter grind. Driving a recent Morgan on a stretch of pavement like hwy. 280 makes it seem bearable to contemplate though!....
