I’ve always been a “hood-down whatever it’s doing” person when it’s come to the Morgan. This morning however, things changed. I had planned to go to the Allon White breakfast meeting but had a change of plan as an issue came up with one of my guitars and which meant a trip to the guitar shop instead. It was bloomin’ cold outside so I decided I’d be a complete wuss and leave the hood up. Well, the upshot of it is that I had a very different, but nonetheless very enjoyable drive with the hood up and stayed warm and snug. Plenty of noise as usual and lots of cold draughts to enjoy with the added bonus of looking like a bit of a gangster (which is a good thing around these parts apparently!). Who knows; I may tray it more often now!

I’m away for the next one too unfortunately. It’s car photography as well which I’d have love to have gone to.

While I prefer to drive the car with the hood down SWMBO doesn’t always agree (she’s not as stupid as me) I would always rather drive it with the hood up than not drive it at all and actually quite enjoy it.

Absolutely. I've never understood the attitude that one must not use the hood, it just seems to me to be a way of reducing opportunities to drive the car.

Fair enough, driving without a hood is the more enjoyable configuration when it's dry, but when it's raining, or simply when one fancies being warm and snug, why ever not?

Not related to this thread but one you will all understand - my son had a proper card left on the Roadster last week -

"I LOVE YOU" - he wonders whether it was meant for him or the MOG?

Cheers

You do look a bit of a tit driving along in the pouring rain with no roof but I will admit to having done it several times. I have never set off in the rain without the roof up though, I don't really see the point.

If my guitar was the passenger, I'd close the top too.

I drive a lot in late autumn and early spring. I love my Morgan at this time with the top closed.
