I must admit, I hate idiot lights! But the dang thing goes on, then goes off with no rhyme or reason. My wife's plus 8 simply comes on when you first fill the gas tank after a reset.

Checked the plug gap.... 0.22 (factory spec)
Oil...... level okay
battery..... 14.6 (or so)
M3W running.... just fine
Gas..... 93 octane (US)
Oil light..... not on

banghead

Try using the protune software and you can read your ecu codes. Interesting in mine before I merged the maps it said my autotune had topped out.

T'is said by some to be caused by the Lambda sensors reading due to weak mixture if the engine is started without allowing the Fuel Pump to fully prime the injectors.

Let the red light go out and then wait a few moments for the fuel pump to get up to full pressure before actually starting the car.

T'is also a problem I am fortunate to have never had in 10 Roadster 100 years.

Good tip on letting the pump prime the injectors completely before contact/ignition.

having HD's I am used to letting the fuel pump do its thing before starting. What I find is while going down the road, the light just comes on (and off) at its own pleasure. It probably does have something to do with the mapping of the ECU.

I drove out to where we are building a house at lunch, I would look down and the light would be on, then glance back and it was off...

I think I picked up a road gremlin

Mine has started doing it as well, must be coming out in sympathy with yours.

It drives and feels ok so I'm just ignoring it at the moment.

I had the check light on & the dealer did various things including changing lambda sensors & cleared it. After 40 miles on way home it came back on. As I was waiting for authorisation & parts for other work after talking to the dealer I drove it several hundred miles. The light was on most of the time. The fix was a new updated ECU.

If I recall early days my light came on. Cleared all the codes and haven’t seen it since. If we see each other on skyline drive in June happy to hook the computer up and clear the codes but I am an amateur with protune.

Yeah I read the manual on protune and was lost after it said, "turn on your computer"
