I LOVE this car.... so much so I am moving away from my recently acquired Plus 4 to getting myself into the 4/4 80th! Would have been a pipe dream to have kept both... however!

I would love to know who on here owns a 4/4 80th then! Thoughts, feelings, joy! Feedback? I love all 3 colour options but the car I have settled on is the classic red.

I think the period features are brilliant. Brass knock-off wheel nuts, brass rad cover, brass dial surrounds, the wheels, the interior, the simplicity... the lightness! All have got me hooked!

Delivery in May... counting the days until collection from AW!

I bought my first Morgan 4 weeks ago, a 4/4 80th in Sax Blue.
I had a Caterham for the last 12 years and wanted a change, Always loved Morgans and after doing some tentative research on line I got a call from Oakmere motors, Chester. They said they would take the Caterham in px. I'd already seen online and admired the 4/4 80th they had in stock and in the flesh it looked even better. They offered me a really good px so signed the papers on the spot. Picked up the Morgan a week later and absolutely love it. It is a real head-turner Instead of getting idiot boy racers bugging me in the Caterham I now get other classic car drivers giving a wave.

I came to Morgan from a BMW M135i on which I'd lavished many pounds on BMW M Performance aftermarket accessories. It wasn't my daily driver. Looked fantastic and went like stink. Even took it on track. But it was never really 'special'. When all was said and done, it was still a hatchback and I very rarely took it out for a drive simply for the sake of going for a drive. And apart from the track, there was nowhere where I could really stretch its legs and still keep my licence.

I originally fancied a M3W but space was a bit tight for my svelte 6'4" frame. My local dealer had a red 4/4 80th which I got a test drive in and that was that. Ended up with a Saxe Blue one - again from Oakmere.

320 - 110bhp was quite a drop but the little 1.6 is more useable in the real world. And each time I go out it is an 'event' which was missing in the BMW.

I have an 80th Anniversary also from Oakmere, it was their Almond / sport green demonstrator, bought it a year ago and traded in a 1959 MGA which we had owned for over 10 years as I wanted a 'modern' classic.
I also own a 250 cup Elise (my 3rd Elise) and have had two Caterhams in the past which I built my self, fair to say my wife and I like our British cars. None have been daily drivers and so it's always an occasion to drive them.
I think the 80th Anniversary is a great looking car which ticked all the boxes for us and is great value especially if you take a standard 4/4 at list price and start speccing it up to 80th Anniversary level.

Agree with you about the 80th Anniversary model , a great combination of features and parts , I never understood why a blue one was left unsold at BHM for so long.

That 1.6 Sigma engine is a peach, free revving and enough power to have fun. Enjoy it to the max!

I also agree about the 'event' of driving the Morgan! Also had a BMW M140i... bloody fast but, well just boring! As well as a licence loser!

Were there equal numbers of cars made of all 3 colours offered? Or was it 4 colours as 80 is better divided by 4!!

If I hadn't been so set on a plus eight for all these years I think one of these would have got me, the spec and interior very attractive, and probably suited to NZ where the motorway speeds tend to be a lot less than allowed in the UK and Europe

Plus the Saxe blue is cool..

I’ve no idea how many of each colour was built, but all three colours are equally sweet and the wheels were an especially good choice. I had originally looked at specifying my own choices from the option book, but the more I looked, the more I liked the job Morgan had done on the 80th. In the end I concluded, the professional designers at Morgan had struck it just right with this one.

80th or not, the 4/4 has been the perfect car for my driving, although at first I found the handling a little strange, I’ve come to love it. The statistics are never going to impress, but the reality is, it feels as racy as any much faster car and all at a more law abiding speed.

My 4/4 is tuned a little bit but still in balance with her abilities. TBH tuning ist not so necessary and I keep the power as is now. It was and is more the fun and curiosity to play with her than any need to become more satisfied. Playing and driving all the time, the air intake, the manifold, actually camber and toe, I will report, and so on...and now driving...what a beautiful day. No car I have or had makes more fun.
