I'm having a Motolita wheel fitted to my 4/4 when i pick it up next week. I noticed that there is an ugly unfinished gap as the boss is smaller than the Morgan wheel. Apart from going down the Allon White bespoke cover route are there any other options? Even neoprene

Hi Jay,

I know that our legendary neoprene king used some u-channel to tidy up the edge.

As well as Allon-White, Steve Simmonds also covers the binnacle in leather - he did mine.

I have also just spotted that the stainless steel binnacle made by Matthias Kaufelt no longer seems to carry the qualification that they can only be used with their dashes, I meant to look into one of these myself. In the latest Miscellany I noted that it looks as if Uncle Melvyn also carries them.

Like Brian V, I went to Allon White's. Nice job but not cheap.

Prior to getting it leather- covered, I used Dave W's neoprene fix and it worked well

I bought two MIG clocks and put one in my '66 Alfa Gulia GT Sprint Veloce. It's a really nice 'period' addition for rally/race style interiors. They come in two types - one which illuminates when hit by infra red light, the other with ultra violet light. You can buy discreet IR & UV LED spotlights from many electronics suppliers if you want to go down that route.

I got them in factory wrapping from Fleabay for about GBP 30 each (including p&p to South Africa where I lived until last year).
