glad you're both ok

& this makes interesting viewing - not least because the busiest roads often seem to be the most dangerous.

I do prefer to take older, bypassed A roads when I can: they tend to be interesting and quiet, give or take a cyclist

Other than going fairly quickly there were a few overtaking moves that were a bit questionable but I didn't see anything particularly out of the ordinary for motorcyclists. I probably would have been a bit more careful in a few places and have slowed down in others: parked cars, crossroads, etc.

Other than the road surface not being so good at a few points I don't see it as a particularly dangerous road however it could become one with inappropriate speed.

Phil, first thing to say is glad you and the better half are OK. Agree with others - a car - regardless of it being Morgan or other....IS replaceable. smirk2

As you will be dealing with the 3rd Party insurers - it is very important you do your homework on the value of your vehicle. They (the 3rd party) are paying for two vehicles here, so will low ball you where they can. Just stand firm be sensible and as others have said, get prices similar to yours, pre accident.

I don't agree that this is a dangerous road though (as others have said)...no road is dangerous...other road users are a danger...as per yer man from Norway, driving on the wrong side of the road.

Quoting that a road is dangerous is very Daily Mail ooo

Never driven the Snake Pass.
In Wales we have many great roads but they are spoiled/made dangerous by stupid drivers.
About 5 years ago I was "tail-end Charlie" in a group of 5 Morgans headed from Llandrindod Wells towards Newtown on the A483. In the Dolfor area (lot of blind bends) a car was overtaking a cyclist on a blind bend. Over the central solid white lines. Just enough gap to avoid it but I remember the look of shock/panic on the car driver's face. Why he insisted on trying the pass on the blind bend is stupid. Speed was well below the posted limit and no large gap to entice the driver to overtake.
It was what I call an "oofer moment".
