I wondered if any of you knowledgable folk might know if the cowl is adjustable? The bead/rubber trim keeps popping out on one side of the cowl as it's not being gripped very strongly. Are there bolts or screws on the inside to draw it closer to the body?

I think you will find that the Bead/Rubber trim should be fixed to the underside of the cowl. The Aero8 car cowls are easy to remove, but I do not know if the fixing is the same for Trad mogs.

The trads have the beading held by the fasteners. I don't know how the Aeros are held.

Thanks all. The beading seems quite loose - held only by an interference fit rather than having any fasteners. But I’ve yet to attempt any remedy as it’s probably beyond my meagre abilities.

Hello Neil, on most trads, the rubber has an flat part,2.5 cm and is placed with 4 very small revets (2.5 mm )in the cowl.

Neilda, Sorry for the delay, I had to do the weeks shopping, a girls work is never done.
Anyway, I have had a look at my 2015 Trad and the cowl is held on by 4 fixings/bolts each side so the beading should not come loose.
I would suspect that one or more of the fastenings has either come loose or failed.
It is probably easiest to remove the grille to get a better look and fix it.

I hardly dare post this....but, if it was mine, and assuming you can push it back into place easily, I would place it almost back then run a small amount of thin (water consistency) superglue down it and then put it in the correct position properly. Let dry overnight. Superglue is good with rubber.

I'd take the cowl off and figure out why one side comes adrift and not the other and then fix it properly. Unless it's how it was fixed originally, and I have no knowledge of the modern cars, glueing it is a bodge.
