Hi All Mostly my S3 and M3W are behaving but Aero has recently developed a blowing fuse - the 5A one for electric window switches and radio. Initially I could replace the fuse and all would be OK for half an hour or so - radio working and electric Windows working both sides. Then over a bump or on restarting the car the fuse would blow. Then gradually got worse! I removed the driver's door trim and removed the window switch and all looks good. Now (whether coincidence or not) the fuse blows as soon as I turn on ignition. Does this point to the radio? Anyway, my main question is - has anyone else had this fuse blow and can suggest what may be causing it, please?

Have you checked where the cables run through the door frame into the body as this is a tight pinch and can wear/break the cable insulation. Not easy to do but would be my first thought.
Speaker cable and power window switches both run through this gap.

Thanks - all looks ok - wires are in a black plastic cover that doesn't seem easy to move. No speakers in doors in a standard S3... Will try to remove the cover as I had thought similarly. Is it easy to test for a short with a meter from fuse box to electric window switch?

Beyond my skills level I am afraid. I know my S2 which is largely an S3 with a scared look had this issue. The dealer sorted it as part of some other door panel off work.

So, it was wiring in the door, and not the radio. That's some help. Who was the dealer, Alistair?
