This is one of these 'circle' questions!
It all started because I have bought a Morgan suitcase! But my 4/4 has no luggage rack fitted.
It does not have overriders either.
I have seen there is a luggage rack available for cars with no overriders, but I don't like the look of it, especially with the big 'hoop' at the rear.
I then thought, why not fit overriders, then get a 'conventional' luggage rack that uses the overriders as part of the mounting! Looks a lot nicer IMHO.
My car does not have a spare wheel either... so I would need to find the luggage rack that suits close to the rear bodywork.
So! How easy are overriders to fit to a 4/4 and where can you get them from please!
If it's all too difficult, I will just forget the idea of having the leather suitcase and just put the soft bags behind the seats!!

It look likes you just need two each of parts 8 & 9 plus fixings, noting that the overrider (8) has a captive M10 stud. The rack then attaches via part 4 which shares the upper overrider fixing, allowing rack to drop into a socket on same, although not sure if this is supplied with rack kit. This from the 2014 on parts manual.

My previous 4/4 had the flat back panel and like you I'm not a fan of the hoop bar the ladder rack is attached to. BHM got the ladder rack adapted to fit over-riders.

I have to say that the hoop does a good job of protecting the rear from shunt parking.

You can get the rear tubes and overriders from the factory but it usually takes time.
Then you need to cut the holes in the rear valance.

Yes it does. I don't know where you are based but it might worth a call to Brands Hatch Morgans. It was Phil, the parts manager, who got the standard rack adapted to fit the over-riders.

BHM fitted a set of overriders to Mr Bumble. They are well used to this job!
