Hi everyone
I am going to get the Timing belt changed on our 2011 4/4 1600 Sigma, and wondered if there are other items that should be done at the same while it’s apart? (On the Rover Elise for example you also do the VVC belt and change the water pump).
Cheers John

Not sure but I figured 8 years is long enough 😄

I would expect a timing belt to require change at 60000 miles 100000klm.

Usually it is by miles or time. After 8 years I would get it done.

Ford say 10 years or 100,000 miles. I plan to change every 5 years.

My 2010 one was done a couple of years ago - nowhere near worn when removed - but it was a lot cheaper than a new engine! It`s much better to get things sorted before it is vital.

Ford claims 8 years or 160.000km for the 1.6 ti vct. Somewhere I read that in the past Ford recommended to change it all 10 years but they had trouble with some of this engines and therefore they reduced the period of time to 8 years.
