Have just driven home with my 2009 Plus 4 which has had its second service at Malvern.Car totally transformed NO squeaks creaks suspension banging and crashing, engine pulls like a train just revs and revs.
Also had sun visors fitted £71.18 a pair plus fittings £14.92 plus screws £1.28 all plus VAT .

but how much was the service

I have never used the Factory and mine sounds like that every time I pick it up. OK , they do good work- but so do others, so lets not get TOO reverential here

PS if you've ever seen a PDI form after the factory have let a car go you might not be quite so enthusiastic
That having nbeen said, it's a very subjective issue so as long as you're happy, that's the main thing

I'm sorry if I have upset anyone by praising the factory service dept for doing what I consider to be a a good job .As I have not had the car serviced elsewhere I can't comment on other dealers or agents prices or levels of competance.
Cost breakdown as follows;
To carry out full service, fit sun visors and attend to brake judder.

Hi Gerry, don't worry I'm sure Gerwyn isn't (too?) upset. He has his views and won't be shy of posting them (as do I )

I think most if not all will have an opinion based upon their own experience. I personally have used two franchised dealers, one gave me abominable service (though now under new ownership) and the other indifferent. As such, when I get the great service I get from the factory I'm delighted and will crow about it.

On the other hand, I really wish I lived near RPM (or more accurately had RPM round the corner from me) or had a similarly keen, modern enthusiastic helpful dealership. I would use them immediately. Until then however, I rely upon the factory and Miller Motors (non franchised but Morgan enthusiasts and TM members). Distance is an issue however.

There are of course plenty of others who receive good service from other establishments, I can only judge and really comment on my own experience. However IMHO if I lived within a reasonable distance from the place and people who actually built my car, it would be my automatic choice.

I live about a hundred miles from Malvern but the route there and back goes through the most lovely countryside .As the factory likes to have the car at 8.30 this requires an early start which means wonderfully deserted roads.
I then go by train into Birmingham which allows me my yearly fix of city shopping which for me is a love/hate sort of thing.
I pick up the car at about 4.00 and look forward to the blast home in a totally rejuvinated vehicle.
I can't think of a good reason why I should do anything different.

Exactly Gerry, many of us make the trek to the factory for major servicing, whilst making use of specialists such as Miller's for other work.

Totally respect and agree with your decision and can see the rationale underpinning it ( Milk tankers on the road between Ponterwyd and Llangurig notwithstanding!)

It's good that we can all have the choice which suits us and I wouldn't want it to be any other way

If I was closer I would use the factory. But mixing with commuters round the M42 has little appeal, and staying over adds cost, even though MrsW would like that.

If my local Dealer could do the job in a day. he would have got the custom, but thankfully I can do most of it at home with much less hassle.

I think I will adopt Gerrys approach. I tool live just over 100 miles from the factory, but like the idea of an early start, a day in the Malvern Hills, early supper, night drive home. More a nice day out than an annual service!
