Much simpler and less expensive is to use an old suitcase of the right size and then go into one of the outdoor leisure shops and buy a nylon backpack cover to fit it. It does the job, and you can choose a colour to suit your car. I chose matte red of course.
Unless you want to spend more of course...................?

This is the perfect solution for me... IPX6, as trolley or duffle, up to 140 liter volume: https://www.ortlieb.com/de/duffle-rs
once: Black M3W with „Jaffa“ leather; 2015 now: Sport grey 4/4 with black leather; 2017

I like the kanlock straps. I think they should also work with an ortlieb 110 soft bag. Great tipp! I am just thinking about the length. Unfortunately the link to the rimowa style suitcase is not working any more. Is there a Name or another link to find it? Thank you ! I use 2 Kanulocks crosswise on our different boxes and suitcases. You are rigth about the length because they have steanless wires inside so they are a little bit stiff. I fold the loose end and fasten it together with velcro tape. This Kanulock "package" looks a little bit odd so I place this "ends" under the luggage rack.

Great stuff - thanks everyone...
The BootBag looks the sort of thing. Might get the 75L version. Having had both I would say the 90L Overboard Bag is better. I think it's the Overboard I'm going to be buying. Looks ideal and two Kanulocks should make it moderately safe.

I am thinking about buying a 90l Overboard bag beside the larger Ortlieb I allready have. What I learned on amazon, is that the Overboard is not really waterproof! Does anyone have experience with this bag? Water should not get into the bag on a rainy day!

My Overboard bag had had many soakings but the contents stayed bone dry. It is important to carefully fold the top. After all, they're designed to fall 'safely' into the ocean.

I used an Overboard bag in the passenger footwell of my 3 wheeler , and as PaulG found the contents stayed dry after numerous soakings .

I have one of these.
Brilliant rained for 3 days on the way to Scotland and stayed dry. Also dropped in the marina by a careless guest.... fast acting neighbour grabbed with boat hook, contents also dry
