Just wondering if the radiator cowl is made out of S/S or Aluminium? I note the Morgen 3W offered a 'polished' radiator cowl as an option... standard on the 'Brooklands' edition... so I am wondering if the P4 or 4/4 is the same material... as I have never seen one polished! Cheers, Pete.

Aluminium I think - no I'm sure it is. They did a Brooklands roadster which had polished ( aluminium) bonnets - not sure about the cowls on those.
I have seen a photo somewhere of a fully polished Morgan trad - bright silver all over.

Aluminium, vacuum formed like the wings given similar raw finish.

Pete everything is possible, this French Plus 8 looks to be very high maintenance I understood that the cowl and scuttle are of steel for rigidity (they certainly are on mine) so maybe these sections are wrapped.

Not sure about the more modern cars , the Cowl was always ordinary steel for the malleability and strength. I would doubt it will be SS- not easy to paint, particularly where there is flexing, Start by using a magnet.

I remember many years ago on a tour of the factory, one car was being fitted with a planished and polished copper cowl which looked superb. I asked the craftsman fitting it about this unusual fitting. He stated that the buyer always specified a copper cowl on his new Morgan.

Modern cars are aluminium cowled & fire walled.

Cheers, Pete. Aluminium.. Never polished mine in two years, but plenty of TLC with careful washing and waxing keeps any degradation or oxidation at bay. Surprisingly, it shows dust a lot.
