I'm glad you enjoyed it, it was great to meet up with Claude in the Royal Castle bar I expected the place to be full of the group but I think you were all preparing for dinner.

Aaaaah Peter- must have beautiful to see. Isn’t she normally moored up further the Lago towards Como Town. She reminds me of our favourite ferry, Milano...

Was it a walking beam engine? Steam engines are a thing of beauty with all the exposed moving parts.
All I've found is that ps Lincoln Castle had a triple expansion diagonal beam engine of 850 shp. She was built in the early 1940's and a little more refined than the other two sister ships used as Humber ferries.

We went on a trip on the Waverley, from Ilfracombe to The Isle of Lundy in 2009.
Great trip even allowed down in the engine room while under power 👍 . We had a trip from Porthcawl to Minehead, then a steam train ride on the Somerset line.A great classic day out. Unfortunately it was a few years ago.

2019 M3W Sold and is now in Las Vegas enjoying the showgirls :-)

I too remember many happy trips on Kingswear Castle when it was based at Chatham. Some where I have a photo of the Memsahib and I sailing our gaff rigger past it by Chatham dockyard.
We have also had Tower Bridge raised on another trip on it, it is a beautiful ship.
Here for a good time not a long time!!

Another reason to visit the area.
My wedding reception was in Kew Bridge Steam Museum. We had the 90" bore three storey beam engine running as people arrived and a cross compound horizontal engine running throughout the evening.
I have a very understanding wife.
