When you buy a Morgan you are buying a project. If you want no projects buy a Toyota. No. One ought to be able to buy a three wheeler that it is fit for purpose and doesn’t have all the issues the M3W has. I am now on my second one but, if I had been aware there was any realistic alternative to the Morgan, I would have jumped at that second time around. The only reason we put up with what we do so far as the M3W is concerned because it is unique and we don’t have any where else to go. I love my car but the service we get from the factory is, frankly, appalling. Bring on the new Italian owners. They can’t do a worse job (I hope!).

We have had a plus 8 since 2004 and not a lot of issues. I was really interested in Liberty sidecars 3 wheeler when it came out, and was saddened that it was not longer in production when was finally possible for me to get a 3 wheeler. I knew of their work from the sidecar world and it was always quality.
I am hoping that my '18 M3W has a lot of the kinks worked out, but just yesterday I said to my wife, if I had been on Talk Morgan a year ago I might have been VERY reluctant to purchase a M3W. I have worked on motorcycles for decades, so it is not being afraid to work on things, but I also expect a certain quality at the core.
I teach resident physicians. I expect hard work, Teachability, and a desire for excellence in the young Doctors I teach.

Really cool you're enjoying it! Now I'm jealous to try it out :-) @KankeL, since you were key in my purchase of ACE#10, and if you get to Seattle, I'll let you have a go in #10, be warned tough; once you experience what Morgan COULD have built, your feelings may shift once back in your M3W. From what I remember of my M3W it was somewhat easier to drive, when it was running... if the M3W is a sports car, the ACE is a race car! I was really interested in Liberty sidecars 3 wheeler when it came out, and was saddened that it was not longer in production when was finally possible for me to get a 3 wheeler. I knew of their work from the sidecar world and it was always quality. I was in the exact same place @rcmatt, once I could afford such a toy Pete had sold to Morgan and the M3W seemed to be the best alternative, but experience is often a bitter teacher. Most people that see my ACE comment on Pete's skill and quality; "stack of dimes welds" are frequently mentioned.

Bwana Kidogo,
This is very sad on so many levels - For the customer, Morgan and the future of the M3W.
It is one thing to have issues with a car particularly a vehicle like a M3W but it’s how those issues are handled by the dealer/manufacturer that matter in the end.
I completely understand how you feel as I had almost exactly the same experience with my 4/4 and that was 2011.
It appears not much has changed.
A new car riddled with problems, not ADR (Australian Design Rule) compliant and warranty repairs that were assessed as illegal rendering a potential “Rejection” at registration.
At 6 months I was so disgusted and disillusioned I wrote to Morgan offering to return the car for a refund. After two years no much had changed.
While consumer authorities here indicated I had a good case I was directed to our Federal Department of Infrastructure. On that suggestion I wrote a detailed letter to Morris.
Six weeks later and no response, the Department took Morgan by the scruff of the neck – problem solved for me and others.
. I am temped, like you to publish the entire sorry saga as it may spur the new Italian owner to look at the issues of product, quality control and customer service.
The really sad part is that there is NO car company in the world that has such tolerant and forgiving clientele.
The issues with my car could all have been resolved with the attention of a competent service agent and honest communication.
In my case I believed I could achieve a safe, reliable, fun vehicle after all they are probably the most simple, unsophisticated car in production today and constructed by Morgan since 1936.
I am pleased to say that as of now I have succeeded – she is running magnificently.
A M3W however, appears to be a very different proposition.
You have had the guts and courage to cut a bad trade so good luck with your new motoring ventures.
