You do a better job than G56 does of selling the benefits of their design!

This afternoon I am off to the Richmond Virginia so we will see.... of course it is also in the drizzle, hopefully not t-storms.

I have the open sided airfilter and have driven through torrential rain without any problems with the intake.

This explains it better in graphical detail, showing the mesh filter in place.

I was wondering why the manufacturer of the engine decided that this feature was important enough to make it into production.

I does seem that it might be possible to fabricate a reasonable facsimile to incorporate into the G56 cover.

2nd impression. Well one down pour in 250 miles driving in that sucks. That being said a lot smoother acceleration

The smooth acceleration is a plus, the rain not so much😊

LightSpeed - If you could get some basic dimensions from that, I could try 3D printing a prototype.

Justinin time ,
I would love to but so far my M3W is finishing the build process and I don’t even have the oem to look at😊.

If I had one with a stinger I would make a mold/casting of it and send it to you.

My dealer indicates that the build should be complete next week and then it gets air freighted to me so I can start applying all I have learned on TM as well as start adding the accessories I have been buying. The only thing I have not purchase so far is the Stage 1 kit.

The photo I Posted came off the S&S website.

LightSpeed, I did print one in PLA, it fits a treat but suspect the temperatures might melt the material. I could use it as a cast tool I guess.
