I am about to service my 2006 4/4 which has a 1.8 Ford Duratec engine. The cover of the air filter is wedged under the central spar of the bonnet preventing me checking the replacement part number without removing the bonnet. Also the oil filter cartridge is in a position where I cant read that part number.
Can anyone help with the correct part numbers so I can order the parts and complete the task in one go.

Thanks You don't need to remove the bonnet just put both sides up at the same time, there will be just enough clearance to remove it.

Hi,
It's really tight but the cover can be removed. There are little hooks that need to be teased out. It will help if you take off the large hose to the filter.
I get my filters from my local Ford man and are referenced P F1751529 (102096).
The sump really is 5.8 lts
The dip stick oil level is really hard to determine, hold up horizontally and you will see it.
Depending how the dip stick is inserted (flat side up or down) you will get different readings. I do flat side down.
The sump plug is non standard and uses a Dowty (bonded) washer. They can be reused. Made with nitrile they are good for up to eight years. They cost pennies so ......

One other thing....
The sump is cast aluminium amd Dowty washers do not need to be overtightened.
I have never been able to determine the correct torque but I'm at 20 lb/ft max
If anyone has better knowledge i would be interested.

Thanks for all the advice
I have managed to partly free the air filter lid a very small amount however it is well and truly wedged under the centre of the bonnet so it looks as if I will have to take it off.

On my 2.0 Duratec the filter is fitted at the rear of the engine and when I purchased the car the filter was touching the bonnet, I have now adjusted it so there is clearance. To get at the filter I loosened the fixing screws at the windscreen end and lifted the bonnets to give enough clearance. I put a towel so that it was between the bonnets when both were lifted to protect the paint. Then I remove the hose (filter to throttle body) and remove the filter case complete. It is a pain, but fortunately not done very often
