Lancia Aurelia B20 Outlaw, saw one today in Evian getting ready for the 30th Coupe des Alpes. Beautiful - as we've touched on here before. Saw 3 of them in various states of build when I collected my Flaminia. A few ordered in colour schemes that would make an Aero blush!

The DeLorean caused quite a stir too, sometimes when we go to Trago Mills for gardening stuff there is a beaut parked up there. It still grabs the attention unlike the MERBMWUDI's all around it. Richard, I can confirm the "D" sure can pull a crowd even today. If you own one just accept that at every filling station, fast food outlet, super market or car show you will be asked about the car and for a photo. I've got it down to a fine art now so time permitting I pull out the DMC cap for them to wear and they sit in the driver seat for a photo with the door up. I have done some maintenance work over four years of ownership but during that time it has just about doubled in value and let me down only once (loose battery cable). Had her out on a club run today. Wonderful highway car.

It's a shame they got a bad press here at the time and that combined with the fact the UK taxpayer felt they had already bought one contrived to kill sales here I would say. It's good to see you sharing yours around Gary, they are forever linked with that film after all. Interesting that the value is climbing away too.

They look sensational on the road....we came across three returning from a show, and they have a very different look from the rear.....

IIRC the main criticism of the car was that it was underpowered. Had the DMC12 managed to hold on for a year or two longer so they could have fitted the Renault 25 Turbo version of the Douvrin V6 motor; I think it would have been a game changer for the model.

Good point I know it was underwhelming when launched other than the looks department, reading Gary's stories the ongoing mods seem to have sorted them into an enjoyable ride nowadays.

Actually it was quite the contrary Richard. Early interest was huge with customers paying up to get on the order list. However, early production quality was rubbish and cost overruns didn't help taking the DMC 12 (US$12,000) to around US $25,000 which did not stack up against its competitors. The car was a bit of a slug as pandy points out so reality quickly extinguished initial excitement. There is no doubt the BTTF movies changed all that. A new movie, "Framing John Delorean" staring Alex Baldwin (88% rating on Rotten Tomatoes) has just been released which will only add to the intrigue and interest. https://trailers.apple.com/trailers/ifcfilms/framing-john-delorean/
