unbelievable, they installing an immobiliser and at the same time delivering an official document, how to shortcut it rofl

I'd checked that, shortcut the Immobiliser - fuel pump is running, starter is working but again no spark fire - because there is no 12V on the coil.
That 12V should come from the system relay, which is switched by the ECU .... so in the meantime i'm afraid I really have a problem with my ECU ....

OR there is any other failure which will cause the ECU not to fire the sparks, here we are back to the TPS problem ...

I will investigate further ;-)

No one has mentioned the rectifier yet. I had two fail on my M3W. It could be that.

Peter,

After 4 failures of the CS rectifier/regulator the final one after a jump start on a brand new CS unit, where it went bang, I have switched to an H-D (Electra Glide) unit, which is far superior. It provides 14.1V at idle, keeps the battery fully charged and the headlights bright.

My M3W was not happy this morning, after having got so hot yesterday in the 44ºC at Draguignan. It sounded like it had hay fever and was sneezing. It used to spit back when very cold on the original set up but stopped doing so, when I went to G56 Stage 2. Maybe the sneezing is what spitting back sounds like through the G56 induction system but it was not cold this morning with the outside temperature in the low 30's (C) at 8AM. I turned the power off and on completely with the master switch a couple of times and that seemed to clear the fault (if any) in the G56 ECU.

To solve this mystery ...

at the end the cable from the cranksahft position sensor was unplugged :-)

The week before I was replacing the shaky plastic what separates the pedalbox from the drive train, by an aluminium metal sheet.
I'm afraid I unplugged this cable while doing this.

Found the problem using the ProTune Gauges and found that no revs where displayed when trying to start the engine.

Thanks a lot to everyone !

+1 great to hear you've found the problem and it was a quick and easy fix.

Thorsten,

Would be interested to hear more about this project. Did you make the new panels easily removable?

not a big story , this (original) plastic part was broken, especially at the mounting holes and a crack in the middle.
I don't know what the pre-owner has done there , my dealer said 60€ and 6 weeks for delivery...

So I ordered some flat aluminium sheets in different thickness (at the end I used the 1mm sheets) , and a leather bag , to be filled with filled with dry sand.

After checking some youtube video's explaining how to hammer an aluminium body from a flat alu sheet ,
I tried to rebuild the form of the plastik part in Aluminium.

It tooks some tíme but at the end it works. OK.. the finish of the surface is not really perfect :-))) (nobody cares about that on that place) but it fits to the original mountings and ist much more durable than the plastic part.

To avoid vibrations I glued some Alubutyl insultating mate, to the side heading to the drive train.

To be honest , to reach the mounting points behind the pedal box ( - from drivers view) was a really hard job ....

Getting inside the footwell is a job for very flexible and very small young people, or maybe your yoga instructor.
