When I first got mine on a run to Liverpool in very wet weather my feet were water cooled which was something my old Morgan never did. For some time I looked at the problem and came up with the idea that the drains from the heater box went down the back of the engine bulkhead i.e. inside the engine bay. There was no water getting in when parked so I wondered if there was a build up of air pressure against the bulkhead at speed. I got two pieces of suitable sized plastic hose, connected them to the drains and secured them just below the floor of the car with a mitred end facing backwards, never had a problem since.

Yes....the area just in front of the windscreen is a positive pressure area where water can get “pushed” into gaps. That was the issue with my screen rubbers not being tight. A video showing airflow using woollen tufts confirms the flow can go into the engine bay via the rearmost louvres, on my car this is into the heater area.

I had the same problem on my previous car ( but not on this one ) and it was water getting past the wiper mounts. A gentle nip with a spanner solved the problem.
Here for a good time not a long time!!

I have heard people say carry a trowel when driving in the rain Probably better off with a bucket.

If water from the bulkhead area (or heater box drains, which in my case the heater box also contains the aircon cooling and thence condesation) gets under the box that holds the ECU it can pass from there through the large cable grommets above the footwell. We have this problem in hot weather when the aircon is on. I need to check the drain hose that I fitted and the neoprene gasket that I fitted to the flange of the ECU cover.

Peter,
most of the poverty models sans AC just drain into the footwells from the heater. There are no exits via the bulkhead/ firewall
It cools by evaporation the feet!
