Hi guys,
I dont know if this is of any interest to anyone on here but it grabbed my attention.
A 1949 Morgan 4/4 drophead coupé with very unusual body modifications for sale by auction at Charterhouse Auctioneers www.charterhouse-auction.com
Looks like bodywork by a coach building firm onto a factory chassis?
Probably a period modification as its been with the current owner for 50 years.
Anybody know anything about the car.
Not to my taste but worth saving.
The body shape is similar to the Lloyd Roadster produced in limited numbers in Grimsby, Lincolnshire during the early 50's.

Addicted to Morgans. 44 years and still not cured.

That was a good spot Jeepy, it looks very homebuilt and not my cup of tea nevertheless historically worthy of preservation I would say.

Reminds me to the Triumph 2000 roadster, but the Triumph looks better...

Yeah it's poorly proportioned whoever made it!

One of the three bodied by Exeter Garages? About 200 rolling chassis were sold in the late 40s and early 50s for others to build bodies for.

That is very interesting as I noticed the car has a Devon Registration number.

Looks like the rear hinged (they must be) doors were added as an afterthought given how they incorporate part of the wing.

More pics on live image link including expected price of £10-12,000. Note "Morgan" rocker cover, unique I believe to Standard Vanguard engine of the era.
