Hi all. I am getting a SSL SUSPENSION setup and will be replacing my Kingpins. I heard about Hard Chrome Kingpins. Can anyone who have updated to these recommend them. Your throughs would be welcome. Perhaps Dave W would have suggestions as to Kingpins replacements. Regards

Just a thought, you are only a stones throw from New Elms in Shaftesbury, why not talk to Tim about suspension upgrades in general ? Regards.

Just returned from New Elms 2 hours ago after having new king pins and bushes, new springs and new shock absorbers fitted all round and free safety check and setup. 160 mile return journey home and the car is transformed. Much more comfortable ride, very planted on cornering and much more confidence inspiring than before. I am not a racing driver so cannot explain how much better it is in technical terms, but 160 miles on I am happy I've spent the money. Drove down on Sunday and stayed the night in a local pub, Tim lent me a car and the we picked up the MOG at 4pm and drove home. Excellent service and help and advice. Give Tim a ring.

As long as you're getting in there it would be foolish not to install HC kingpins. Their lifespan is much greater than either alternative (unplated or stainless steel). The supplier of your SSL should be able to provide them as well. I got it all from Librand's and was well satisfied. regards, Phil

Go for the hard chrome kingpins. You would find they last far longer but even with these don't neglect the regular greasing and also suggest you wrap some sort of protecting skirt to keep out grit and dirt. I use a couple of strips of chamoise leather held in place with cable ties.

As said they will last longer. Well worth the cost.
