Last weekend somebody pinched my chrome fuel cap from the 65 Plus 4 Four Seater. Not sure what their motivation was, as it is just plain chrome without any wings or embellishments. Anyways, I picked up a new one from morgan-spares.com and was pleasantly surprised to see that it came with a retaining chain.

I would welcome suggestions as to how to attach the cap to the filler line. If you have one already installed on your Morgan, a picture would be apprecaited.

Edwin,

These caps are intended for motorcycles.

The chain is attached to a clip that's pushed down into the tank.
That's not practical on a Morgan because of the lengthy hose between the cap and the tank.

Simply remove the chain.

Warren

ps, I usually just stick the cap in my pocket when refueling so it doesn't get forgotten.

Edwin, a longer chain with a spring open device attached to the tank end that when pushed down the filler neck will open on entering the tank.... be sure to leave enough chain length to be able to let the cap hang out of the way while fuelling.. Spring device..? Perhaps similar to that fishermen use to stick in the mouth of a fish in order to remove their hook without being bitten, or you could change the connection at the top end of the filler tube..?

Just thinking in type..(-:
