Good afternoon to all!
One question I've had since I bought my 4/4 sport n May is that the front badge will not sit flush with the cowl.
Is that a normal thing? How would I go about rectifying it?

(please forgive the dust on the car :-)

No that has been very poorly fitted and you will need to remove it and bend it around a wooden dolly to match the curve of the cowl and then reaffix it.

The tiny nuts on the inside are often not tight enough, that said they should not be used to 'pull' the badge to shape, as Richard says, very poorly fitted

Seeing as the badge has lost its black enamel in-lay bits it might be worth ordering a new one? That should hopefully fit flush - other wise removal and bending slightly/gently as suggested would be a good idea.

It should fit like this -

The cowl badge on my 1986 4/4 does this too. It bothers me not one iota.

I replaced the cowl badge on Bumble. It came flat, and I curved it in the vice, padded obviously.

If it's coming off I'd think about replacing it for the earlier and in my view nicer badge.

Thank you for the replies and suggestions....

I like the missing enamel, kind of like patina and being original and all... but I would need to find someone a wooden dolly...

A new one however is also tempting! Do you know if the come "pre-bent"?

The earlier badge would also be a nice touch....

decisions decisions....

Any wooden edge would work I would imagine. Just be careful as the typical soft cast aluminium they are made of can go brittle and easily break.
