Hello
This is a major doubt I have… I'm considering to buy the M3W with the XT leather, as I'm not convinced that the standard trim Will not be affected by heavy rain in case I'm surprised on the road with scattered showers or a sudden summer storm.
But I have not read any real complaint about the standard trim. Or maybe because owners with the XT leather don’t talk about its benefits?
I don’t know, as it’s an expensive option. But it will break my heart if rain ruins the leather…
Please let me know if you have or not the XT leather option and if it’s really worthy or not.
Thanks again and regards

Not really noticed any issues with the standard leather even after downpours, although I tend to use a half tonneau. I would save your monies ...

My car has the XT, it’s had one or two soakings, sometimes too, it’s been damp when being left outside with evening dew forming. Three years, 13k miles and it looks and smells new. I have stone colour which is very light, even blue jeans dye transfer wipes off with a damp cloth, I’m impressed. It’s an expensive option though, fortunately, my car was a special edition and the XT was included at no extra cost.

Hi Marmota , My wife has XT in her Plus Eight ( cream ) it has been very wet inside her car and the XL leather took no harm . I have just taken delivery of a new 110 M3W with cream Xl leather with orange diamond stitching , due to a serious illness the M3W has not been used much rain or sun but I am sure I have made the best decision on the choice of materials. Go for it.

Car Leather Myth 4: Water will stain leather, so don't get your leather wet. Consider that leather is tanned and cured using water. What's damaging to leather (stain-wise) is stuff in water. Leather upholstery can be wiped with a damp cloth.Jul 2, 2018 guidetodetailing.com

I use Gliptone waterproof leather conditioner a couple of times a year and after 28k miles it's all still in good shape. I'd spend the money on a stage 1 exhaust - the single biggest improvement to the M3W you can make. Also yes to the rear mudguard - which is easy to remove if needed to change the rear tyre.

Marmota, we've has seriously wet seats in several Morgans with standard leather, and had no problems, but I do treat the leather with conditioner at least 3 or 4 times a year Don't forget cows stand outside all year ! and they don't disolve

Marmota, Don't forget cows stand outside all year ! and they don't disolve And please, don’t put the. In the dryer, they make a horrible thumping noise😊 If you keep the standard leather protected with a good leather conditioner then it will last a long time. Drying out of the oils is what kills leather.
2019 M3W Sold and is now in Las Vegas enjoying the showgirls :-)

Up here in the mountains at 9000ft and over we have snow, hail and very heavy flash flooding rain the leather in all my Morgans have experienced all those conditions with no ill effects. Sun, ultra violate exposure is the biggest problem for not only leather but all parts and up here it is very intense as we are closer to the gods. Regular maintenance and treatment of surfaces means I have not experienced any problems, so I would not worry too much about it.

I have in different Morgans normal leather. It was often wet without any problems. I think a little bit of ,,Patina'' makes leather even better for cars in vintage style . Before I ordered my car I saw the XT leather but for me it felt a little bit like plastic, sorry......
