Hello guys. I was wondering if anyone had come up with a solution for an issue I'm having with the cards which cover the door latch on the Aero 8 S1. Every time I get in or out of the drivers side the card comes off and the small panel pins in it seem to disappear under the seat or end up coming close to puncturing the leather on the seats.

I've tried new pins etc but to no avail. I've thought of using glue or screws but that would make access to the latch harder for maintenance etc and the proximity of the seat in any position makes tightening or loosening screws extremely fiddly to say the least! Has anyone come across this and a solution before?

I’d screw it in with the countersunk upholstery screws and cup washers painted black. You will hardly notice them and they will still be easy to remove when needed.
Or if you are feeling flush get the screws and cup washers black chromed 😄

Kevin, I've had similar issues with the factory panel pins on trads

My solution was some clear UHU glue dabbed onto the shaft of the pin & re-nail as normal - it compensates for the ash drying out & not gripping, but can ultimately be removed in the future if needed

Both solutions worth considering. Will try the glue idea first as it leaves the panel stock even though the original solution by morgan seems a little slapdash for their then flagship model! 3mm by 15mm screws with chromed cups or caps would be more elegant but more obviously not stock and screwing them in and out would be a pain because of the proximity of the seat to the card.

stainless steel screws/cap washers are stock on my S1 Kevin - so no fears re the dreaded 'originality' (does that even exist with a Morgan )





I'm not sure why you want to remove them too often either as you can easily adjust the door catch mechanism with them in situ.......

Thanks for the pictures James. It was more the originality I was concerned about rather than the maintenance because as you say no 2 seem to be alike but I foolishly thought it was simply pinned on to ease maintenance when in the dealers.

After the catalogue of work done and to be done on mine I thought they were bound to be added to the list at some point. Will go look for some screws and cups at the weekend.
