That is probably because he is a 'soft top'

Looking forward for a 100Km bicyclejourney (no fear - in two days, it's got some hills)...

It would be a good idea for a roadcheck. Great idea: the weather was good, so out for "test" with my wife in the MOG.
From my hometown to BINGEN, up on the hills to WEILER, Waldalgesheim etc. It was a good idea. No only we enjoy the journey, there where a lot of the roads closed! So no biketour possible in the next few days.

If you stay in this area, there is a great landscape visible from WEILER down to Bingen, and from the top of the hill
you can travel from Waldalgesheim to the river Nahe by great roads or change via STROMBERG to Rheinböllen in a small valley and if you are tiered by the wood and small river, turn right down in the Rhine Valley. You can't go wrong, allways great roads and landscape.

On the way home we stopped in Ingelheim in the "Golden Engel" for to celebrate the 70. birthday of the Currywurst.

Ah Currywurst a delicacy that alas hasn't made it to the UK. I spent many hours making / developing curry ketchup for Kraft in Fallingbostel & Munich.

Thanks for the trip advice, René. Also for me as a Cologne citizen the route described by you would be a nice change. Apropos sausage, in Bacharach, near Bingen, there was the old Posthof where you could get very tasty sausage specialities in a very nice historical garden, even if no curry sausage. Unfortunately it is currently closed.

Sadly also the local breweries in Bavaria are closing. In 2016 when we went back to Holzkirchen where we lived in 86-89 we found the Oberbrau closed.

But I believe that the small breweries are just coming back and will become even more. Like with IPA and all those varieties from the micro breweries in the USA.

Any in Foching? I had colleagues who lived there, it was always a great laugh at passport control when they were asked where do you live and replied Foching West Germany.
I must get down to Bavaria in the Mog to explore.
